George Hickox will teach you how to train a bird dog. For over 2 decades George has trained owners and handlers to develop their dogs into hunting companions and successful field trial and hunt test winners. George’s methods of training enables the owner to advance the dog they have now as well as dogs they may have in the future. George has helped 1st time dog owners do it right from the beginning as well as bringing advanced dogs and trainers to a higher level through the George Hickox Bird Dog School or private one on one training.
George provides an in-depth program covering all aspects of gun dog training. George’s school for owners and their dogs uses live birds in the field throughout the course as well as covering: canine behavior, basic obedience, proper bird manners, nutrition, conditioning, clicker training, e-collar conditioning and the proper use of low level stimulation, and hunting in control. George’s comprehensive methods will help owners and handlers be better dog trainers and their dogs be better dogs.
With a lifetime of training and hunting/guiding from Alaska to the piney woods of Georgia and most places in between with over 100 field trial placements, George imparts a wealth of knowledge to all owners and bird dog trainers. George’s expertise extends to the Special Operation Forces and other elite canine teams to advance their dogs and handlers. George is dedicated to helping the trainer and works with all breeds.
George trains in the summer in the prairies of North Dakota and in Thomasville, Georgia during the winter months. Private consultation and training for individuals and groups are hosted in both North Dakota and in Georgia. George conducts Bird Dog Schools across North America and travels to locations for private clinics.
