I’ve hunted with George from South Dakota to Alaska, photographed his pointers, setters, and Labs for years, and attended his dog-training schools. And I’ve come to one conclusion: No one knows more about bird dogs or has more stylish performers. If you’ve ever wondered how much difference superior breeding and innovative training make, one look at Hickox’s bird dogs will make you a believer.

I‘ve hunted birds over George’s dogs from the Idaho Mountains to the piney woods of Georgia. For style and dash, elegance and grace, and sheer performance, they are the canine equivalent of a best London gun.

Ive had the pleasure of knowing George Hickox for a lot of years, both personally and professionally. And more importantly, I’ve had the chance to hunt over his dogs – finished dogs, started dogs, and I’ve even run some pups with him. I’ve watched his training techniques and how he socializes dogs. Under George’s hands his young dogs are eager for advanced training; his started dogs most hunters would be proud to call finished and his broke dogs hold point better than anything you’ve ever seen.
